5 IMPORTANT FACTOR BEFORE STARTING HRT (HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY).

Having gone through a period with all the sign of perimenopause such as heart palpitation, increase of body temperature, sudden lowering of mood, nightly disturb sleep, dry skin and eyes which make my daily quality of life is compromised.

 
Take all these information to your doctor and he will be able to advice you accordingly and you too should keep one set of this information for future references. 

 

1.   Complete a thorough blood test.

Just to make sure you don’t have other surprises with your health issue as you need a clean bill of heath.

A full blood test with a chest X-ray and cancer marker will cost around RM250.

 

 2.   Have a mammogram.

With the ho and ha of breast cancer, it vital that you know how your breast look like before the commencement of the program. Make it a habit to do it annual as this is the only way you can ensure the health of your breast.

Currently LPPKN is having a subsidized program of RM50.00 for those who total house hold earning is above RM10,000 and FULL subsidies is for those who has lower then RM10,000.00 for women from 40 to 70 of age.

3.   Check your blood pressure.

You need to control your high blood pressure before you can start HRT and you need to monitor it regularly on your own.

Blood pressure check is usually in the blood test packages. 
  

4.   Ultrasound your womb.

Make sure you womb is healthy and you have regular period. Other HRT plan is available if you have irregular period.

The cost for an ultrasound is from RM120 to RM180. You can get a Free Mammogram for ladies 40 to 70 together with a FREE ultrasound at Vision Dianostic Centre Petaling Jaya.

5.   Go for a pap smear.

Ensuring you had a clean and healthy cervic. You can get a this test at Nasional Cancer Society Malaysia for RM40.00.

ESTROGEN & ME

It is very important to understand how this estrogen affecting me. Currently there are 3,791,540 women in Malaysia from 40 to 64 of ages and i am sure if not all of them going thorough what i am experiencing, most of them will somehow gone through it.

What does really estrogen function and how it effect us ?

Estrogen is the hormone is very vital for the health of female reproduction organ and it peak mostly at 20s and decline slowly thereafter.

1.   Skin changes .

I started to observe that fine lines pops up overnight  on my face, neck and even my hand look coarse and texture of the skin is not so smooth anymore.

2.Decrease in memory power.

Sometimes i find myself walking up and down of the house looking for something and i can't remember what.

3.  Tired easily.

For a person who can spend 12 hours daily running from one meeting and appointment to another now can hardy attend 2 per day. My entire body just cannot move anymore. it refused to budge from the nearest seat that i manage to grab and my brain is not helping either. It started to hypnotized me to closed my eyes and go to slumber land.

4.  Palpitation.

My heart sometimes beat so fast and hard that i thought that my blood become so thick that my heart have no choice but to use all it energy to pump oxygen to keep me alive.

5.  Body ache.

My arms pain. My joint hand and leg is weak. No amount of yoga stretching,  exercise or traditional ointment can diminished the daily discomfort.

6.   Tooth and gum changes.

When i smile, i notice that the gap between my tooth are getting bigger and the gum too are getting tighter. This will affect how i look as it will pull the lower part of the face slightly droppy.

7.   Mood swing.

I can be very happy  in the morning and extremely moody in the evening. I can too be very exited in the afternoon and suddenly very sad. Certain news irritates me to being wild with rage, noise drove me to being insane.

Everyday it an experience of uncertainty with me and i have to brave with the challenges to acknowledge and be mindful that now the master in me is estrogen and i must not let it control my life to the extend it bring misery.

Wikipedia said that “Mothers Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.”

Motherhood has no fix formula or recipe. Each woman journey record their own sellout novel with amazing tales of survivor, triumph over adversity, heart stopping emergency and overfilled feeling of love and happiness.
 
Being a mother bring out the best in us; woman. We learn to grow from a carefree days of a student and young adult to learning to care for another human being. The days mother wait and feel the unborn child inside her to the great joy to have the first glimpse of the child; words have no description of it feeling.

No matter what is the age of your child, being a mother provide an excellent opportunity to exercise our senses, heighten our alert mechanism, nurturing our loving heart and improved our money managing skill. 
 
Even though we welcome motherhood with great joy, we pray that each of us be blessed with continuous strength and wisdom. Motherhood the job without retirement, let’s us cruise forward and open our heart to enjoy each passing phase.
