Recently
I have put a lot of thought onto how my body has change in shape, weight and
feel since my teenage time. After a challenging career and three kids, my body
have evolve from a size M to XL. Not that I do not look good of what I am today
but the sheer mystery of how my body changing that has ignite my brain into
giving it a thought and try to find a solution to how I can get back to where I
am. Did I make effort before? You bet I
did, with 10 Km jogging daily, gym, diet and the list can go on, nothing much
happened.
After
observing my food, I notice that we in Asia are eating a high carbohydrate meal
each day. Our meal consist as high as
70% of carbohydrate which due from rice, noodle, bread, cake and sweet. Not
only that we eat because the brain hypnotize us into trying various so call
delicious food that being advertise almost everywhere and every corner. As food
culture hit as like a storm, we consume more. Yet we tell our self that is OK,
it part of socializing and networking with friends.
For
the last 20 years, I have put on 15 kilograms onto my frame and being human, we
always look for the simple and fastest way out. We look instant weigh lost
program, no effort formula or simply remove it surgical. But if it takes me
20 years to gain that much, don’t you think it probably take that long for me
to lose that much too ? YES! Finally I get the gist of it. Getting it is one thing, putting it on
practise is another. Life is full of temptation and it will not come easy.
So how?
I asked. With some pondering, I come up with a simple way to try it out. Eat
and be happy but yet the weight can be drain off in slow mostion. Baby steps.
First I decided to take off all carbohydrate in my daily meal. Instead I took
vegetable, meat and fish for main meal, salad or fruits for breakfast. With
this I find that my taste bud has become very much alive and I enjoy my food
better. After 4 months, viola ! 4
kilograms has been shed but the beauty is my body shape is very much leaner
that the 4 kilos off from the weighing machine.
Now
I try to change the way I eat, eat more real and fresh food with plenty of nuts
and fruit. Stay away from highly process food and all thing sweet. I am very
convince that the truth to all weight gain is mainly from what we eat as now I
am eating a lot and have not gone hungry yeti can notice small imporvement onto
the shape of the body. Well I still like my 10 km cycling and little weight to
firm up some part and strenghten the joint. Let’s see what happened in 12 months
time.
